Donal has a background of NHS GP experience of 27 years, later half of career in Senior leadership positions. These were Senior Partner in a practice of 16000 patients, Chairman of a primary care company delivering intermediate services to the community, Chairman of a GP federation covering 40 practices over 200,000 patients which he helped set up. During this time was clinical lead for NHS vanguard project in Hampshire, this won a HSJ system leadership award 2019.
He now has set up, with his business partner Lin Barlow, their own company- BarlowCollins Ltd. Whose mission is to deliver Insulin sensitivity to as many as would wish to improve their metabolic health. Oct 2020- Current.
Current project in Havant UK running 2021 with significant shift in metric in the engaged population.
This has won an award at Clinical pharmacist’s congress 2021.
Currently works with Hampshire hospital trust as an advisor to improving health in the community.
Member of NAPC clinical faculty- advising on Digital engagement. April 2021- current.
Member of Clinical advisory board for Objectivity August 2021 – current.
Advisor to Gosport and Fareham Academy School- working with school children to improve the health of a town.
